About TraceTots

TraceTots is a free library of name-tracing and handwriting worksheets. Any parent or teacher can print clean practice pages here without making an account or wading through pop-ups.

Why we built this

Most handwriting worksheet sites drown you in pop-ups and forced logins, and the printouts look rough. That bugged us. We wanted a fast tool that does one job: build a name-tracing worksheet, or hand you a ready-made cursive, number, or lined-paper PDF, and let you print it straight away.

It all happens in your browser. When you type a child's name into the name tracing generator, that name never leaves your device. Your browser builds the PDF and downloads it straight to you.

How the worksheets are made

Each worksheet uses the classic three-line rule: a solid baseline, a dashed midline for x-height, and a top line. It's the same setup used in early-years classrooms. Letters print as light gray shapes on every row, so learners trace the stroke shapes for the whole sheet of practice.

Our fonts are open-licensed. We use Andika, which SIL International drew for literacy and beginning readers, for print, and Dancing Script for cursive and calligraphy. Both ship under the SIL Open Font License.

Who it's for

  • Parents helping a child learn to write their name and letters at home.
  • Teachers printing class sets of alphabet, number, and name practice.
  • Adult learners rebuilding neat, legible handwriting.
  • Calligraphy beginners tracing elegant letterforms.

Always free

The worksheets and the generator are free to print, with no signup and no account. If they help your kids or your class, that's the whole point.
